Overview

This portable 12G-SDI over Fiber Transceiver delivers stable, high-quality uncompressed Bi-Directional 12G-SDI transmission. It fully complies with SMPTE standards including ST-2082 (12G-SDI), ST-2081 (6G-SDI), ST-424M (3G-SDI), ST-292M (HD-SDI) and ST-259M (SD-SDI), supporting auto-detection of data rates from 270Mbps to 11.88Gbps and enabling seamless compatibility with 4K@60Hz UHD, HD and SD formats.

This 12G-SDI over Fiber Transceiver features a compact and lightweight design for field production and mobile applications, with 1/4-inch mounting for flexible installation on cameras, tripods, or brackets. This Bi-Directional 12G-SDI to Fiber Converters are designed for long-distance, lossless transmission of one channel of 4K UHD video signal and one channel of return video signal over optical fiber. They are widely deployed in broadcast studios, OB vans and live production systems to deliver real-time, low-latency bidirectional transmission between on-site cameras and control rooms.

Q): What is the transmission distance of this 12G-SDI over Fiber Transceiver? Does it support multi-mode fiber?

A): This device is equipped with a single-mode optical module, with a standard configuration of 10km transmission over single-mode fiber. For longer transmission distances, we can use higher optical power modules to support 20km and 40km transmission as needed. In addition, we do not recommend using multi-mode fiber. Please contact us if multi-mode fiber has already been laid in your system.

Q): Can a 19 inch 1U rack be chosen for the control room side?

A): Yes, this is a widely adopted configuration. The broadcast camera side can be a standalone unit (V-mount is also optional), and the control room side can be fitted with a 19-inch 1U rack, this design eases installation and management. This option is totally available; just inform us of your requirements before placing an order.
